The Woodturner’s Wares uses an oil based, highly durable gloss finish on all handmade wood turned items. This finish is beautiful as well as food safe. The finish is applied with a cloth in thin layers and is allowed to dry 24 hours between coats. Light sanding occurs between coats and the finish is completely cured and hardened after 30 days. Seven coats of finish are applied to bowls, nut crackers, and cheese trays and four coats to bottle stoppers. This process creates items that are intended for everyday use.
Regular Cleaning
Do not immerse or soak in water.
Do not place in dishwasher.
After use, rinse and wipe clean using warm water. Use mild soap and warm water as necessary. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
Maintenance
Dust with a water damp cloth.
Avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity as these can damage the finish.
